A New Era in Synthetic Ice Surface Performance

Paraffin Glide Technology is the result of decades of Swiss innovation in the synthetic ice industry. By combining high-grade wax and oils with a specialized paraffin formula, we’ve created a surface that offers:

Natural Ice-Like Glide

Engineered for athletes and enthusiasts, offering the closest sensation to real ice available in a synthetic surface.

Less Blade Wear

Compared to plastic synthetic ice, Paraffin Glide keeps skates sharper for a long time, reducing sharpening costs and downtime.

Self-Healing Surface

Used with our SkateCat or any other maintenance tool and resurfacing machine, scratches and grooves are filled and a fresh paraffin layer restores peak glide.

Unmatched Lifespan

Designed for decades of use, these panels can last indefinitely with proper resurfacing, avoiding the costly replacements required by traditional synthetic ice systems.

Indoor & Outdoor Compatible

Performs at its peak in indoor environments, but can also be installed outdoors with additional maintenance to manage weather and debris.

Zero Microplastics & 100% Recyclable

Made from durable, fully recyclable materials with no microplastic release, helping protect the environment while maintaining top skating performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Synthetic materials are not able to recreate the same friction like ice and therefore the gliding experience is always different to real ice. However, our paraffin solution is the closest to real ice you can get. Thanks to our unique paraffin formula, which was developed over the last decade, the glide closely replicates natural ice, making it suitable for hockey, figure skating, and leisure skating. Try it our on our facility and get a feel for our product. You won't be disappointed.
With proper maintenance, Paraglice panels last over 20 years, significantly longer than standard plastic rink systems. Since the paraffin can be reapplied anytime and unlimited amounts of times, the panels last almost for ever. Depending on the chosen floor frame beyond the paraffin layer the duration of the product varies, but can go easily over 20 Years. Which also makes reselling or second hand trading an attractive choice if you don't need the system anymore. Our Paraglice System has a very low loss in value over time due to the unique maintenance process.
Absolutely. The panels are UV-resistant and weatherproof, performing consistently in both indoor and outdoor settings year-round. The outdoor performance can vary depending on the pollution/contamination of the paraffin layer with external influences like dirt, debris and other substances.
On average, around 0.5 kg of paraffin per square metre per year, though this varies depending on usage and traffic levels.
Absolutely. Paraffin Glide Technology is engineered for both recreational and high-performance environments, meeting the demands of figure skaters, hockey players, and training facilities.
Yes. Compared to standard plastic synthetic ice, Paraffin Glide’s low-friction surface causes significantly less blade wear, extending the time between sharpenings.
Typically every 2–4 weeks using the SkateCat machine, depending on usage intensity and environment.
Yes. Paraffin Glide Technology is ideal for commercial spaces, offering an energy-free, low-maintenance skating experience in locations such as malls, hotels, and event venues.
Yes. All panels are 100% recyclable and produce no microplastic abrasion during use.
All Paraffin Glide products are manufactured in Switzerland to strict quality and environmental standards.
